" I wanted to say how much I’m loving the coaching. This morning’s session was a proper classic – I got so into the intervals I completely lost count and was genuinely disappointed when it finished.
 

I’ve also been reflecting a bit after the parkrun PB attempt at the weekend. Not getting it didn’t really bother me – if anything it just reinforced that the PB itself isn’t the main thing I’m getting out of this. PBs would be nice, but for me they’re way down the priority list now, especially having already ticked off a sub-3.
 

What really stands out is how much coaching has superpowered my enjoyment of training. Whatever magic you’re working, you’ve got me right on that edge of improvement without tipping me into injury (touch wood). Hamstrings are absolutely humming today, but in that good DOMS way – very much “worked hard” rather than “you’ve done something stupid”.
 

For me it’s all about the process and making the day-to-day training as good as it can be. If PBs come as a by-product, great – but the enjoyment is the real win. Just wanted you to know how much I’m appreciating it.”

After initially being hesitant to approach Sweat Elite for coaching (believing I wasn’t anywhere near the level I needed to be) Matt  Fox instantly put my mind at ease. It became obvious that he thrives off making you a better athlete, no matter what the starting point is! After the initial consultation regarding my current training status, we touched on things like my life commitments which was really refreshing. Matt Fox bent over backwards to try and strike a balance with work/life and training… quite a challenge in my case with two babies at home! Practically speaking, Training Peaks is super easy to use: Matt Fox adds the framework of the training block so I know what’s coming, I complete sessions and add feedback, we touch base regularly and Matt Fox makes adjustments based on my feedback and his assessment of the data.
